Granatum - Description of Work
WP1 - GRANATUM Conceptual Modelling and Architecture
This workpackage involves the technological state-of-the-art review, comparative analysis and evaluation of best practices and techniques, and the identification, analysis and homogenization of the biomedical researchers' requirements, and aims at the development of an innovative approach and conceptual architecture for facilitating biomedical researchers to collaborate and share data, and at modelling of the GRANATUM key conceptual artefacts.
WP2 - Linked Biomedical Data Space
In the frame WP2, the GRANATUM consortium will deliver the GRANATUM Linked Biomedical Data Space, which will offer a rich knowledgebase with data that originate in different biomedical data sources and a set of tools for publishing biomedical data as Linked Data.
WP3 - Argument And Opinion Extraction And Modelling Space
WP3 comprises of three tasks which aim at designing and developing the GRATANUM Argument And Opinion Extraction And Modelling Approach, Ontology and Toolkit.
WP4 - In silico Models, Tools and Experiments Space
Design, realization and deployment of the scientific workflow for the development of in silico chemoprevention models for specific disease domains.
WP5 - Social Collaborative Working Space
Design and development of all components (layers) comprising the Social Collaborative Working Space. Moreover, a semantic annotation mechanism (based on the WP1 biomedical semantic model) will be developed and included in the Social Collaborative Working Space, in order to facilitate the creation of machine interpretable online discussions. The semantic annotations will be integrated and processed to extract additional knowledge in the context of already known facts, based on the analysis of the semantic network and the social connections so as to assess the credibility, relevance and importance of the information.
WP6 - GRANATUM Platform Integration
This workpackage involves the development of the integrated technical architecture and the proactive planning of the integration of the different software components. Moreover, software integration and technical evaluation of the integrated GRANATUM system will take place.
WP7 - Showcases Development and Overall Performance Evaluation
Definition, realization and deployment of the GRANATUM showcases' experimental environments that will operate in the frame of preselected realistic cancer chemoprevention collaborative research experiments, leading to a stress-test of the implemented ontologies, models, tools and simulation applications under pragmatic conditions. Definition, validation and refinement of the showcases' evaluation protocol. Monitor and evaluation of the performance of the showcases and generation of lessons learnt and methodological adoption guidelines for collaborative research environments.
WP8 - Innovation Management, Dissemination and Exploitation
Wide dissemination of project's research results. Establishment, operation and management of the GRANATUM Cancer Chemoprevention Special Interest Group (CCSIG), which constitutes the main large-scale dissemination activity of the consortium. Innovation management, IPR handling and exploitations and business planning.
